Raid Team Status

Tawd here doing his best to keep you slackers up to speed.  I hope this information is accurate, if not aw well blame Scugga.  Anyway, this is the raiding world as I know it to be.

ONS – One Night Stand has bagged Majordomo and seen the mighty Firelord Ragnaros.  He is a vicious little ember and may take some time to stamp out.  We have the Azeroth FD on standby if things get out of hand :)

TMR – The Mustache Ride is also rocking and rolling, with Alysrazor being the 5th victim of Moh’s Wooden Spoon.  They will being turning their Ayp-like Aggression towards the MajorDo-do Elf. Good luck to you all.

SPN – ZeGuild’s kid brother raid team, SourPatch Ninjas  is ready to start tackling the Fiery Lands of Coolness.  We wish you guys the best, and remember, USE YOUR COOLDOWNS!

TOMF – Team Oww My Face is doing well.  The Twilight Folks with their scary Black dragon buddies seem to be dieing without much resistance.  Keep up the good work and hope to see you killing fiery beast soon too.

The New ZeGuild

ZeGuild has seen many changes in the last few months.  Old friends have left, some returned.  Leadership has changed, but the ZeGuild lives on.  As time passes, we all grow.  We change and our ZeGuild is no different.  One major change will be our new dedication to raiding.  Our passion for raiding and progression has boiled over and now it has become our prime focus. ZeGuild still welcomes casual gamers as well, but all must understand we all play for different reasons.  Friendship and prosperity can live together, as we will prove on a daily basis.

On that note, I must mention another major change.  Tim Buckley, author of the webcomic Ctrl+Alt+Del, no longer plays WoW, and by that, no longer has an affiliation with ZeGuild.  Many of us are still friends with him but have moved on to our inevitable destiny.  Conquering the World (of Warcraft)!

Now that we are primarily a raiding guild, the officers and counselors have created a new code of conduct for Raiding and Rated BGs.

Fuck Yeah!

In the inaugural raid of ZeGuild’s newest raid team, Team Fuck Yeah downed all three of the bosses they attempted. In the short time they had to raid, the group netted: Magmaw, Omnitron Defense System, and Halfus Wyrmbreaker along with Magmaw’s parasite kiting achievement on their second attempt. Congratulations to all involved in this stellar opening run.

The State of the ZeGuild!

With the change of leadership came the difficult task of finding officers.  After interviewing, poking, stabbing, threatening and blackmailing three names have made it to the top.

Xeya, Rorit and Tawd are the new officers.  That was the good news.  Now for the bad news, each officer including myself has been mandated with tasks and responsibilities.  Along with the day-to-day running of ZeGuild, each officer has been given the job of getting us some of the sexier guild achievements.  I will be working on the Classy Dwarf achievement (levelling my rogue first then helping whoever seriously steps up for Warlock.  Xeya decided that she would be nailing the WotLK heroics guild achievement.  Rorit will be helping interested members in getting their ICC achievements (and possibly mounts!) Tawd has been given the easiest of all tasks : fetch us the legendary healer mace Val’anyr so that we can finish up our guild’s legendary collection.  Now of course most of those achievements won’t be soloable so while the officers will be giving the major push to get things organized and underway we will need YOU to help.  So if you feel like giving a push to those achievements, contact the appropriate officer.

Now while officer recruitment is closed, there is one position that I would like to see someone step up to : Warmaster.  Or Battlemaster.  Or Rated-BG-Guy.  Or ZeGrandMarshal.  Basically that position would be similar to raid leader but with a focus on rated BGs and arenas.  Mithivius has started a forum topic about arenas and I believe that’s the first step.  We have a lot of pvp talent in the guild (this excludes me) and I would like to support this as much as a non-pvp’ing GM can.  So if you think you got what it takes to pvp on a more competitive level, let me know what I can do to help you get things started.  There are some very nice titles, achievements and shinies to get from PVP I’m sure.

Last, but not least, the guild bank.  Like I’ve repeatedly stated in the past, the plan is to use the 20k gold we have in there to purchase the final guild tab once we unlock it through a certain achievement.  After that when we reach a comfortable amount of gold, let’s say 8k gold, guild repairs will be made available to the guild for anyone of rank member and up.  I will also go on record and say that if guild funds run low because of this little experiment we’ll have to reduce or remove daily guild repairs.

I will try to do those State of the ZeGuild posts on a semi-regular basis so that you folks can know what’s up, what’s the plan and where we’re going.

A fond farewell

Leading ZeGuild for the past year and a half has been a great privilege. I’ve made a number of very good friends through this guild, and I’ve had countless fun and memorable experiences in World of Warcraft with all of you.

However, unfortunately, as of late I find myself less than enamored with the game itself. The previous expansion dragged on for a long time, and while Cataclysm reignited my interest for a short while, that has already begun to fade. I no longer get as excited about WoW and raiding as I used to, and as a result I log into the game less and less these days.

I love the people in my guild, but I find I no longer love the game. As such, I’ve decided its time for me to leave WoW. ZeGuild is very near and dear to my heart, and I know that a guild cannot function without an active leader. Therefore, later this week, I will promote Revnox to leader of ZeGuild, to take over the care of our great guild in my absence. Revnox has been in ZeGuild since the beginning, and I trust him and his enthusiasm to see the guild as a whole continue to thrive and conquer new challenges.

I will remain available to help Revnox with any website/forum-related issues, but once I transfer leadership, I will no longer be involved with the day-to-day running of the guild and its policies.

I look forward to the possibility of seeing some of you in the future, perhaps in different games we may be playing. Until then, you have my fondest and most sincere thank you for making ZeGuild such a fantastic experience. I was honored to be a part of it.

-Tim

“After a long night of near misses TWSS accompanied by three members of ONS finally Downed Magmaw with a flawless attempt, netting them epic loots, a boss kill and a shiny achievement for not being touched by the fugly worms of fail. Big thanks and congratulations to everyone involved in the run. THAT’S WHAT SHE SAID!”
