Over the last few months, TFB of ZeGuild has been chipping away at Ulduar hard modes in our spare time, working towards the Glory of the Ulduar Raider achievement, and our mount. Last night, after a rough four-hour battle with Yogg Saron, and only the help of one keeper (Mimiron), we conquered our last boss and achievement, netting each of our ten raiders seven achievements at once, for a total achievement spam of seventy achievements!

Upon zoning out of Ulduar, we also all received our grand prize, the true reason for working on the achievement, the Rusted Proto-drakes!

Guild Bank Updates and Changes

As we prepare for Cataclysm (hopefully) later this year, I’m going to be making some adjustments to our guild ranks, and guild policies. First up, we’re going to be attempting to streamline our Guild Bank so that it’s easier to use for members, as well as to try and get more of the items we need for the guild as a whole.

Currently our guild caters to both people leveling new characters, and raiders tackling end-game content. Flabby has been promoted to Guild Bank Officer, and will now oversee the organization and distribution of guild bank items.

To make his job a little easier, members will now find that they have access to deposit items in the sixth bank tab. This is an all-purpose location for you to make your contributions to the guild bank, and is easier than mailing items to an officer. From this tab, officers will evaluate the worth and usefulness of an item, and determine which tab to send it to, or whether it should be sold for guild funds.

Items that are of a big help to the guild are:

  • Frostweave, which our tailors can use to make bags
  • Blue Northrend gems (Monarch Topaz, Sky Sapphire, etc), which can be transmuted into epic gems
  • All Eternal elements (fire, water, earth, etc) for a variety of recipes
  • Saronite and Titanium, either in ore or bar form
  • Northrend Herbs
  • Enchanting Materials
  • Bags of all sizes
  • Frozen orbs

Additionally, lower level crafting materials in full stacks can be helpful for people leveling new professions. Epic gear and certain blue gear can generally find a home at any level, but greens are by and large useless, even for new characters leveling. However greens can still be sold or disenchanted for materials for the guild bank, so feel free to donate those as well.

Fish used in the making of Fish Feasts are a big help to our raiders. Musselback Sculpin, Nettlefish and Glacial Salmon are all needed, and we will trade an epic gem out of the guild bank for any full stack of one of these fish.

On a related note, only Members and above have access to the guild bank. In order to be promoted to Member from Initiate, you must A) have been in the guild for at least three weeks (it is your responsibility to approach an officer about a promotion) and B) be able to provide proof of an Authenticator on your account (by showing an officer your Core Hound Pup pet). The second requirement prevents our guild bank from being robbed in the event that your account is hacked.
